In 1975, a group of monasteries of Discalced Carmelite Nuns, desiring to strengthen one another in living out their contemplative vocation, formed the St. Teresa Association.
On June 29th, 2016, the new Apostolic Constitution, Vultum Dei Quaerere, was promulgated for all Contemplative Nuns; we were asked to cherish the prophetic value of our lives of self-sacrifice and not be afraid to live fully the joy of the evangelical life. With these words of encouragement we turn again to our Carmelite Charism. Together we reflect how we might live this guidance from the Church with the spirit and mind of Our Holy Mother, St. Teresa. In spiritual affinity with her, we see anew the essence of our life, our apostolate of prayer!
As daughters of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we ponder her hidden life of prayer and love, and ask for the grace to be faithful to our vocation, where we cherish the Lord and each other:
"All must be Friends, all must be loved, all must be held dear, all must be helped."
St. Teresa of Jesus
